Anoplarchus purpurescens (High Cockscomb)

This species, in the family Stichaeidae, is found from the intertidal to 30 m depths. They are able to breathe air and survive for 15-25 hours out of the water as long as they stay moist, which is aided by hiding underneath rocks. They are omnivores, feeding on algae and small crustaceans, mollusks, and polychaete worms. (fishbase)
